Brazen Roofing works across Oklahoma City and the surrounding metro — Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang and out into the counties around them. This page covers the kind of work we do here and, more usefully, what to ask about before you hire anyone.
The Work We Do in Oklahoma City
Brazen Roofing has completed more than 4,387 roofs since 2021, currently running around 750 to 800 a year across twelve markets, roughly 90 percent residential and 10 percent commercial.
- Hail and wind damage inspection and repair with full insurance documentation. See hail and wind damage specialists.
- Storm restoration and insurance claim support. See storm restoration and insurance claims.
- Class 4 impact-resistant shingle installation — the baseline consideration in a market where roofs get hit more than once in their service life. See impact-resistant shingles.
- Full residential replacement built for the wind exposure that comes with an open metro and very little natural windbreak.
- Commercial and multifamily work across the metro. See commercial roofing.
What a Photograph Would Not Show You Anyway
Worth saying plainly, because it is the honest problem with any roofing gallery: every finished roof photographs well. A good roof and a bad roof look identical from the street on the day the dumpster leaves. The difference shows up in year eight, and it is always the same short list — all of it invisible once the job is finished.
- Nail placement. Nails driven above the shingle nailing zone hold the shingle by the tab only. The most common defect in this industry, and it voids most manufacturer warranties.
- Flashing replaced, not reused, at every wall, chimney, skylight and valley.
- Kickout flashing where a roof plane meets a wall — missing it routes water into the wall cavity where nobody sees it for years.
- New pipe boots, not the old ones with fresh sealant on them.
- Matched starter strip and ridge cap, usually a condition of the full manufacturer warranty.
- Balanced ventilation — exhaust matched by soffit intake, or the shingles cook from underneath. See why proper roof ventilation matters.
Every one of those is checked by a Brazen quality-control inspector rather than by the crew that installed the roof. Our installation crews are subcontracted, which is normal at our volume across twelve markets; our inspectors are not. The sign-off comes from someone whose job is to fail a roof that is not right.
Ask for a Reference Instead
It is the better evidence. In most of our markets we can point you to recent work nearby and, in many cases, to a homeowner willing to talk about how the job went. A roofer who cannot produce a local reference is telling you something worth hearing.
You can also read what our customers say — broken out by market rather than pooled into one flattering average. For completed work across all twelve markets see our roofs and our commercial roof work.
More about us in this market on our Oklahoma City roofing page, or check our service area. When you are ready, a free roof inspection costs nothing and carries no obligation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Usually, yes — ask us. We can generally point you to recent work nearby and often to a homeowner willing to talk about how it went, which is better evidence than any photograph.
You cannot, from the street. Ask about what got covered up: nail placement, whether flashing was replaced or reused, whether the enhanced nailing pattern was used, whether kickout flashing is present where a roof plane meets a wall, and whether the attic has adequate soffit intake.
Because Oklahoma City gets hail and severe wind in the same storm. Most architectural shingles reach their rated wind speed only when installed to the enhanced nailing pattern — it is a condition of the rating rather than an upgrade, and one of the quietest places for a cheaper bid to save money.
Check them first. Oklahoma requires roofing contractors to register with the state, so ask for the registration and verify it. Then get the certificate of insurance direct from the insurer, refuse large upfront deposits, and never sign a contract with no price on it.
During a funded claim. The insurer covers the roof you had, and you typically pay only the difference in material cost to upgrade to Class 4 or metal. Given how often this market is hit, most OKC homeowners will get that opportunity.
